Halloween is here! This Wednesday is our Halloween parade and party. The parade will be at 10, and the party will be right after recess. Thank you to all the parents who have helped put this together and those who are helping the day of. It's going to be a busy week. We are also finishing Wonder. There will also be a social studies test on Thursday. Can't wait to see all the cool costumes! If you have not signed up for conferences be sure to do so soon!

Big shout out to all the parents who came on the field trip. It was a beautiful day and the students did a great job! Sorry I missed the walk a thon, but heard it was a great turn out. Congrats to Leighton who walked the most laps for girls! Woohoo!
This week we will be reading pages 185-234 in Wonder. Please check in with your child to make sure they are keeping up. In writing, they are still working on stamina writing about a first time or last time experience. In math, they will be taking the mid module test on Wednesday. This will be taken in their rotation class. In social studies, we will be starting to learn about explorers. Important Dates: No school- Oct 19 Halloween Parade- Oct 31 at 10:00 party to follow This week we are reading Wonder to page 185. Some students are having a hard time finishing the reading, so please check in with your child. They may need to read at home. They will also be doing another 8 parts, which is working on parts of speech. In writing, we are working on stamina. As of now, most can write for about 15 min, without stopping. In math, we are continuing to work on multiplication with decimals. Students will be wrapping up their iron chefs on Native Americans and there will be a test on Wednesday. We start our new science rotation Monday, and our class will be with Mr. Lueck learning about the solar system and gravity.

They have learned all the sign posts, QAR questions, and the quad. Most of these probably sound foreign to you, so ask your child about them. They are several different methods of analyzing text. We are using these methods while reading Wonder. This week we will also begin 8parts, which helps students to understand parts of speech. In math, we are working on double and triple digit multiplication. It is very important that your child know their multiplication facts. In social studies we are looking a bit deeper into Native Americans. This will be their last week of science with Miss. Riley. They will be heading to Mr. Lueck next week. We will also have our first Art Vistas on Wed.
