Our state testing begins the week of April 29. We will be testing language arts the first week. The students will be doing some test preparation in class these next 2 weeks by working on some practice test problems.
There will be no Zearn or paper homework for math this week. The students will be reviewing concepts on IXL or completing a review worksheet for homework. We are beginning our state report this week. This week the students assignment is on state symbols. There will be ample time in class to complete state report assignments, but students are welcomed to work at home if they wish. We're also starting our states and capitals this week. This week's focus is on the western states. There will be a quiz on Friday. Language Arts The students will be doing some test prep in class this week to prepare for their state test in a couple of weeks. We will do some problems whole class, some in small groups, and some individually. Math We're continuing module 5 this week with lessons 12-17. The key concepts are calculating area with fractions and mixed numbers, identifying the properties of shapes, and measuring and calculating angles. There is no Zearn or paper homework this week.

In math, the students are learning about volume. We will be going pretty fast, since we have testing coming up soon. We will also be using IXL to review topics we have already covered. Check in with your child about how they are doing on review topics. In social studies, students will be exploring the battles of the revolution. This will be the last week of book clubs and we will be having a pot luck on Friday. |
